HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 1

COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Dream Hunt Foundation for its efforts in serving
children in Louisiana
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Dream Hunt Foundation for its efforts in serving children in Louisiana.
3 WHEREAS, Dream Hunt was founded in the spring of 2013 with the mission of
4making dreams come true by taking disadvantaged, disabled, sick, or terminally ill children
5on organized hunting and fishing trips; and
6 WHEREAS, based in Stonewall, Louisiana, the Dream Hunt Foundation partners
7with Shriner's Hospital, St. Jude's Hospital, University Health, and other organizations to
8find potential participants; great efforts are taken to ensure every hunting and fishing trip is
9special, safe, and memorable; and
10 WHEREAS, Jeff Warren, former pastor at The Simple Church in Shreveport and an
11avid outdoorsman, has loved fishing, hunting, and the outdoors all his life; after much prayer
12and deliberation, Jeff resolved to use hunting to help other people and founded Dream Hunt;
13through the work of the foundation, he has the opportunity to share his love of the outdoors
14with kids and their families; and
15 WHEREAS, everyone associated with the Dream Hunt Foundation is a volunteer;
16the foundation serves children from age ten to eighteen whose lives have been otherwise
17focused on their disability, illness, or limited resources, and gives them the opportunity to
18experience and appreciate the outdoors.
19 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
20Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Dream Hunt Foundation for its efforts
21in serving children in Louisiana; does hereby recognize the foundation's numerous

1contributions to the community and state; and does hereby recognize the significant impact
2the foundation has in the lives of numerous Louisiana children and their families.
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
4to Jeff Warren, founder of Dream Hunt Foundation.
