CONDOLENCES: Expresses condolences on the death of Gail Ann Erickson Pryor
1 A RESOLUTION
2To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Gail Ann
3 Erickson Pryor.
4 WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
5Louisiana House of Representatives have learned of the death of Gail Ann Erickson Pryor
6on May 24, 2018, at the age of eighty-one; and
7 WHEREAS, a long-time resident of Baton Rouge, Gail supported and participated
8in many organizations and was a founder of Paper N' Things, a local stationery store that
9opened in 1979; and
10 WHEREAS, she enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and gardening, and her greatest loves
11were her family and friends; she was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and
12delighted in attending and getting involved in their school activities; and
13 WHEREAS, an accomplished cook and a generous and devoted friend to many, Gail
14was happiest when she was serving others and enjoying the company of her loved ones; and
15 WHEREAS, Gail also loved traveling, especially to New York with her daughters
16and daughters-in-law, where they enjoyed attending shows, dining, and shopping; and
17 WHEREAS, Gail Pryor was one of Louisiana's finest daughters, and the memory of
18this wonderful and beloved woman shall live forever in the minds and hearts of all who
19knew and loved her and the many friends whose lives she touched.
20 WHEREAS, Gail Ann Erickson Pryor is survived by her beloved husband, Dr.
21William A. Pryor; children, Mark Schroeder, and his wife Mary, Susan Ferris, and her

1husband Tim, and Eric Schroeder, and his wife Denise; grandchildren, Anna, John,
2Margaret, Daniel, Camille, Marit, Caroline, and Ben; brother, Charles Erickson, and his wife
3Caroline; sister, Judith Bach, and her husband Steve; and several nieces and nephews.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
5Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the
6death of Gail Ann Erickson Pryor; does hereby record for posterity her extraordinary gifts
7and talents and legacy of kindness and grace; and does hereby express appreciation for the
8pride and honor that this wonderful woman will forever bring to her family, friends, and
9community.
10 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
11to the family of Gail Ann Erickson Pryor.
