ENROLLED 2018 Third Extraordinary Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 8 BY REPRESENTATIVE FOIL A RESOLUTION To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Gail Ann Erickson Pryor. WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the Louisiana House of Representatives have learned of the death of Gail Ann Erickson Pryor on May 24, 2018, at the age of eighty-one; and WHEREAS, a long-time resident of Baton Rouge, Gail supported and participated in many organizations and was a founder of Paper N' Things, a local stationery store that opened in 1979; and WHEREAS, she enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and gardening, and her greatest loves were her family and friends; she was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and delighted in attending and getting involved in their school activities; and WHEREAS, an accomplished cook and a generous and devoted friend to many, Gail was happiest when she was serving others and enjoying the company of her loved ones; and WHEREAS, Gail also loved traveling, especially to New York with her daughters and daughters-in-law, where they enjoyed attending shows, dining, and shopping; and WHEREAS, Gail Pryor was one of Louisiana's finest daughters, and the memory of this wonderful and beloved woman shall live forever in the minds and hearts of all who knew and loved her and the many friends whose lives she touched. WHEREAS, Gail Ann Erickson Pryor is survived by her beloved husband, Dr. William A. Pryor; children, Mark Schroeder, and his wife Mary, Susan Ferris, and her husband Tim, and Eric Schroeder, and his wife Denise; grandchildren, Anna, John, Page 1 of 2 HR NO. 8 ENROLLED Margaret, Daniel, Camille, Marit, Caroline, and Ben; brother, Charles Erickson, and his wife Caroline; sister, Judith Bach, and her husband Steve; and several nieces and nephews. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Gail Ann Erickson Pryor; does hereby record for posterity her extraordinary gifts and talents and legacy of kindness and grace; and does hereby express appreciation for the pride and honor that this wonderful woman will forever bring to her family, friends, and community.
