SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 21

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Cameron Doyle for being selected to represent Louisiana
at the 2018 Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Program World Leadership Congress.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Cameron Doyle for being selected to represent Louisiana at the 2018 Hugh
3 O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Program World Leadership Congress (WLC).
4 WHEREAS, HOBY was established in 1958 by the popular Hollywood movie actor
5 Hugh O'Brian after spending nine days in Africa shadowing Dr. Albert Schweitzer; and
6 WHEREAS, after witnessing the heroic humanitarian efforts of Dr. Schweitzer and
7 being challenged by the doctor to put his newly gained knowledge to work, Mr. O'Brian
8 returned to Los Angeles and created an organization designed to encourage young people
9 to take a leadership role in society and become catalysts for change; and
10 WHEREAS, HOBY is an international organization which annually hosts leadership
11 programs in each state, including Louisiana, for high school sophomores to recognize and
12 develop their leadership talent; and
13 WHEREAS, Cameron Doyle of Mandeville, Louisiana, daughter of Ross and
14 Shannon Doyle, attended the 2018 Louisiana HOBY Seminar; and
15 WHEREAS, Miss Doyle was chosen to represent Louisiana at the 2018 HOBY
16 World Leadership Congress; and
17 WHEREAS, the WLC brings together over 400 young leaders from the United
18 States, Puerto Rico, and 11 other countries for a week-long intensive educational leadership

1 conference; and
2 WHEREAS, the purpose of the WLC is to provide young HOBY leaders with an
3 opportunity to interact with other cultures, form friendships, exchange ideas, and learn how
4 to make a positive impact on the world.
5 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
6 does hereby commend and congratulate Cameron Doyle for being selected to represent
7 Louisiana at the 2018 Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Program World Leadership Congress.
8 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does
9 hereby recognize the pride and honor that this wonderful young leader brings to her family,
10 friends, school, community, and state.
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Miss
12 Cameron Doyle and to Bruce Bundy, principal of Mandeville High School.
