Existing law provides for the crime of illegally supplying a felon with a firearm, and further
provides criminal penalties including imprisonment for not more than five years and a
potential fine of not less than $1,000 nor more than $5,000. At least one year of the sentence
imposed shall be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
New law retains existing law, but adds that the term of imprisonment shall be served with
or without hard labor.
Effective August 1, 2018.
