Abstract: Provides relative to services of the John J. Hainkel, Jr., Home and Rehabilitation Center
in New Orleans.
Present law authorizes the secretary of the La. Department of Health and the commissioner of
administration to negotiate terms and conditions of the lease of the state-owned John J. Hainkel, Jr.,
Home and Rehabilitation Center in New Orleans.
Proposed law retains present law and provides that any lease document shall ensure that in addition
to continuing to operate as a long-term care facility that provides nursing home level services, the
facility may provide adult day health care services.
