HB 300 Reengrossed 2018 Regular Session	Chad Brown
Abstract:  Creates the "Louisiana Aviator" special prestige license plate.  Provides for fees,
distribution of fees, issuance, creation, and design of the license plate and the promulgation
of rules.
Proposed law requires the secretary of the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to issue special
prestige license plates to be known as the "Louisiana Aviator" license plate.
Proposed law provides for the secretary to work in conjunction with the State Representative for
District 60 to select the color and design of the plate.  Requires the design include the words
"Louisiana Aviator".
Proposed law specifies that the license plate be issued, upon application, to any citizen of La. in the
same manner as any other motor vehicle license plate.
Proposed law requires the department to collect a handling fee of $3.50 for each plate, to be retained
by the department to offset a portion of the administrative costs.
Proposed law requires the secretary to promulgate and adopt rules and regulations to implement the
provisions provided in proposed law.

Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The House Floor Amendments to the engrossed bill:
1. Change the entity that the secretary of the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections must
work with to select the design and color of the plate from the Louisiana Aviators Club
to the State Representative for District 60.
