ACT 82 (HB 300) 2018 Regular Session Chad Brown
New law requires the secretary of the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to issue special
prestige license plates to be known as the "Louisiana Aviator" license plate.
New law provides for the secretary to work in conjunction with the State Representative for
House of Representatives District 60 and the State Senator for Senate District No. 2 to select
the color and design of the plate. Requires the design include the words "Louisiana Aviator".
New law specifies that the license plate be issued, upon application, to any citizen of La. in
the same manner as any other motor vehicle license plate.
New law requires the department to collect a handling fee of $3.50 for each plate, to be
retained by the department to offset a portion of the administrative costs.
New law requires the secretary to promulgate and adopt rules and regulations to implement
the provisions provided in new law.
Effective August 1, 2018.
