1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 32:408(A)(5)(b)(i) and to enact R.S. 32:402(C)(6), relative to
3 driver's licenses; to authorize waiver of the skills test for a person regularly
4 employed within the last twelve months in certain military positions; to provide with
5 respect to the operation of a bus during times of emergency by employees of the
6 Department of Transportation and Development; and to provide for related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1.  R.S. 32:408(A)(5)(b)(i) is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S.
9 32:402(C)(6) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
10 §402.  All drivers must secure license; exception; emergency vehicle exception;
11	military personnel exceptions; emergency command post vehicle exception;
12	law enforcement officer exception; Department of Transportation and
13	Development employee exception; violations

17	(6)  Notwithstanding any provision of this Section or any other law to the
18 contrary, an employee of the Department of Transportation and Development who
19 is operating a bus, in the course and scope of his employment, during a
20 gubernatorially declared state of emergency or disaster shall only be required to
21 possess a Class "E" driver's license.

4	(5)  Notwithstanding any other provision to the contrary, the skills test
5 required for Classes "A", "B", and "C" commercial driver's licenses shall be waived
6 for an applicant who meets one of the following requirements:

8	(b)  Provides evidence and certifies that he is or was any of the following:
9	(i)  Regularly employed within the last ninety days twelve months in a
10 military position requiring operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
