MTR VEHICLE/DRIVER LIC: Modifies requirements for obtaining a commercial
driver's license when an applicant is employed in a specific military position.
DIGEST
Present law allows an applicant regularly employed within the last 90 days in a military
position requiring operation of a commercial motor vehicle to waive the skills test required
to obtain a commercial driver's license.
Proposed law increases the time period an applicant must be regularly employed in a military
position requiring operation of a commercial motor vehicle to waive the skills test required
to obtain a commercial driver's license from 90 days to 12 months.
Effective August 1, 2018.
