RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 686 (HB 303) 2018 Regular Session Gisclair Prior law allowed an applicant regularly employed within the last 90 days in a military position requiring operation of a commercial motor vehicle to waive the skills test required to obtain a commercial driver's license. New law authorizes a person regularly employed within the last 12 months in a military position requiring operation of a commercial motor vehicle to waive the skills test required to obtain a commercial driver's license. New law specifies that only a Class "E" driver's license is required for an employee of the Dept. of Transportation and Development who is operating a bus, in the course and scope of his employment, during a gubernatorially declared state of emergency or disaster.
