HB 427 Original	2018 Regular Session	Mack
Abstract: Changes the requirements for the Dept. of Public Safety to use in its determination of the
qualifications and competence of individuals and laboratories who perform chemical analysis
for the department.
Present law provides a list of accreditation bodies which the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections
(department) may use to issue permits for the purposes of chemical analysis testing.
Proposed law modifies present law by removing the list of accreditation bodies and instead allows
the department to use an individual or laboratory with an accreditation based upon the international
standard, ISO/IEC 17025, for the purposes of chemical analysis testing.
