R.S. 38:3087.138 and 3097.8(D) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 10 §3087.138. Reports regarding groundwater resources 11 The commission shall report, on or before April annually, the district's 12 groundwater resources to the commissioner of conservation, the Water Resources 13 Commission, the Water Management Advisory Task Force, Senate Committee on 14 Natural Resources, and the House Committee on Natural Resources and 15 Environment. Present law requires each groundwater conservation district created by law or designated as a regional body by the Water Resource Commission submit a semi-annual report to the commissioner of conservation, the Water Resources Commission, the Water Management Advisory Task Force, the Senate Committee on Environmental Quality, and the House Committee on Natural Resources and Environment. Present law provides that the written report detail the district's groundwater resources and the activities and actions taken with respect to each of the district's powers delineated by laws creating the district, to include but not be limited to the amount of water used for residential, commercial or industrial, or agricultural purposes, respectively; actual and projected saltwater intrusion or encroachment; and any current or projected sale of water for use outside of the state, including the amount of water so sold and the price paid by each out- of-state user. Present law requires the commissioner of conservation to promulgate a checklist of the information to be included in the semi-annual report. Proposed law provides for annual reporting requirements specific to the Sparta Groundwater Conservation District. Requires the report include the amount of water used for residential, commercial or industrial, or agricultural purposes; actual and projected saltwater intrusion or encroachment; and any current or projected sale of water for use outside of the state, including the amount of water so sold and the price paid by each out-of-state user. Proposed law requires the report be submitted to the same entities identified in present law.
