DISTRICTS/HOSPITAL SERVC: Provides relative to the board of commissioners of
Vermilion Parish Hospital Service District No. 3
1 AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 46:1053(C)(2)(i), relative to Vermilion Parish Hospital Service District No. 3;
3 to increase the maximum amount of per diem which may be paid to commissioners
4 of the district; to increase the number of meetings for which the commissioners may
5 be paid; and to provide for related matters.
6 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
7 as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
8 Louisiana.
9Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
10 Section 1. R.S. 46:1053(C)(2)(i) is hereby enacted to read as follows:

18 (i) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the governing
19 authority of Vermilion Parish may permit a per diem to each member of the
20 commission of Vermilion Parish Hospital Service District No. 3 in an amount not to

1 exceed one hundred twenty-five dollars for each day of attendance at meetings of the
2 commission, not to exceed twelve regular meetings per year and four special
3 meetings per year, payable out of the funds of the hospital service district.

Abstract: Increases the maximum amount of per diem that the governing authority of
Vermilion Parish is authorized to pay to members of the governing board of
Vermilion Parish Hospital Service District No. 3 and increases the number of
meetings for which the commissioners may be paid.
Present law authorizes parishes to create hospital service districts. Provides that the
governing authority of the parish in which the district is located may permit per diem to each
member of the commission not less than $25 nor more than $40 for each day of his
attendance at commission meetings, not to exceed 12 regular meetings per year, payable out
of the funds of the hospital service district.
Proposed law authorizes the governing authority of Vermilion Parish to pay members of the
governing board of Vermilion Parish Hospital Service District No. 3 a per diem not to
exceed $125. Authorizes payment of per diem to such members for four special meetings
per year, in addition to the 12 regular meetings, and otherwise retains present law.
