Abstract: Eliminates required content in recommendations by the Judicial Council of the Supreme
Court of La. (the council) relative to laws creating or increasing court costs or fees and
provides earlier deadlines for submission of laws to the council for its review and for
notification of the council's recommendations to the legislature.
Present law provides that laws providing for a new or increased court cost or fee shall only be
enacted if they are first submitted to the council for review and recommendation to the legislature
as to whether the court cost or fee is reasonably related to the operation of the courts or court system.

cost or fee is reasonably related to the operation of the courts or court system.
