Abstract: Revises the appointment process for the Morgan City Harbor and Terminal District.
Present law requires the mayor and council of Morgan City, the town of Berwick, and the parish
president and council of St. Mary Parish to appoint two members each to the Morgan City Harbor
and Terminal District. Present law further requires the governor to appoint three members, one each
from a list of three names submitted by each of the appointing authorities listed in present law to the
Morgan City Harbor and Terminal District.
Proposed law modifies present law by allowing the governor to appoint three members to the
Morgan City Harbor and Terminal District without requiring that he make the appointments from
a list of three names submitted by the appointing authorities listed in present law.
