HOUSE BILL NO. 529

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES:  Provides relative to controlled dangerous substances on the
premises of alcoholic beverage outlets
1	AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 26:90(A)(11) and 286(A)(11), relative to alcoholic beverages;
3 to provide for prohibited activity on licensed premises; and to provide for related
4 matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 26:90(A)(11) and 286(A)(11) are hereby amended and reenacted to
7read as follows: 
8 §90.  Acts prohibited on licensed premises; suspension or revocation of permits
9	A.  No person holding a retail dealer's permit and no agent, associate,
10 employee, representative, or servant of any such person shall do or permit any of the
11 following acts to be done on or about the licensed premises:

13	(11)  Illegally sell, offer for sale, possess, or permit the consumption on or
14 about the licensed premises of any kind or type of narcotics or habit forming drugs
15 controlled dangerous substances or other illegal substances.

17 §286.  Acts prohibited on licensed premises; suspension or revocation of permits
18	A.  No person holding a retail dealer's permit and no servant, agent, or
19 employee of the permittee shall do any of the following acts upon the licensed
20 premises:

Abstract:  Prohibits activities involving controlled dangerous substances or other illegal
substances on the premises of alcoholic beverage outlets. 
Present law prohibits a person holding a retail dealer's permit from permitting the illegal
sale, offering for sale, possession, or permitting  the consumption of any type of narcotic or
habit forming drug on the premises of certain alcoholic beverage outlets. 
Present law prohibits a person holding a retail dealer's permit from permitting the illegal
sale, offering for sale, possession, or permitting the consumption of any type of controlled
dangerous substances on the premises of certain alcoholic beverage outlets. 
Proposed law prohibits a person holding a retail dealer's permit from permitting the illegal
sale, offering for sale, possession, or permitting the consumption of any type of controlled
dangerous substance or other illegal substance on the premises.
