Abstract:  Requires upon written request that the state registrar release death certificates of veterans
to the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs for veterans benefit determinations.
Present law provides for the disclosure of vital records.
Proposed law retains present law.
Proposed law requires the state registrar to provide certain vital records to the U.S. Dept. of Veterans
Affairs upon written request for the purpose of determining veterans' benefits.
 
Proposed law adds that the state registrar of vital records may submit data related to deaths of
veterans directly to the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs in determining the eligibility of veterans
benefits.
Proposed law makes technical corrections.

Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Health and Welfare to the
