DIGEST Present law requires that the magistrate or judge of the court exercising jurisdiction immediately forward to the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections notice of failure to appear with information necessary for identification of the arrested person, which automatically results in the suspension of an operator's license. Proposed law retains present law but changes the forwarding requirement from the magistrate or judge to the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections of the notice of failure to appear from mandatory to permissive. Delete provision of proposed law requiring the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections, public safety services, to promulgate rules and regulations as are necessary to implement the provisions of present law and proposed law.
