Board of Chiropractic Examiners 1 AN ACT 2To amend and reenact R.S. 37:2805(A) and (B)(1)(d), relative to requirements for licensure 3 by the Louisiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners; to provide relative to educational 4 qualifications of applicants to the board; to provide for technical corrections; and to 5 provide for related matters. 6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 7 Section 1. R.S. 37:2805(A) and (B)(1)(d) are hereby amended and reenacted to read 8as follows: 9 ยง2805. Requirement for license; penalty; qualifications; examinations; issuance of 10 license 11 A.(1) No person shall engage or attempt to engage in the practice of 12 chiropractic in this state who has not been licensed in accordance with the provisions 13 of this Chapter. 14 (2) Whoever violates this subsection Subsection shall be fined not more than 15 three hundred dollars or be imprisoned for not more than three months, or both, and 16 each day a violation continues shall constitute a separate offense. 17 B.(1) The board shall license as a chiropractor and issue an appropriate 18 certificate to any person who files with it a verified application therefor, Page 1 of 2 CODING: Words in struck through type are deletions from existing law; words underscored are additions. Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Present law requires that in order to become licensed by the La. Board of Chiropractic Examiners, an applicant shall hold a baccalaureate degree from a college or university approved by an accrediting agency of the U.S. Department of Education. Proposed law retains present law and provides that the accrediting agency may also include the successor of the U.S. Department of Education or its foreign equivalent.
