[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] HB 783 Reengrossed 2018 Regular Session Huval Abstract: Provides that the maximum amount of fees assessed to emergency ground ambulance service providers shall not exceed the federal maximum allowable for the year. Present law provides that the La. Dept. of Health shall assess each emergency ground service provider a percentage fee. Present law provides that the maximum fee allowable in any year shall not exceed three and one-half percent of the annual net operating revenue of the emergency ground ambulance service provider. Proposed law provides that the maximum fee allowable in any year shall not exceed the percentage of net patient service revenues permitted by federal regulation pursuant to 42 CFR 433.68 as determined by the department. Present law requires the La. Dept. of Health to publish in the official state journal the total amount of the fee assessment and the corresponding applicable percentage of net operating revenue that will be applied to assess the emergency ground service providers.
