HOUSE BILL NO. 802

DISTRICTS/DRAINAGE:  Provides relative to Gravity Drainage Districts in Calcasieu
Parish
1	AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 38:1794(A)(2)(a), relative to gravity drainage districts in
3 Calcasieu Parish; to provide for an increase in compensation for members of the
4 board of commissioners; and to provide for related matters.
5	Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
6	as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
7	Louisiana.
8Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1.  R.S. 38:1794(A)(2)(a) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as
10follows:
11 ยง1794.  Meetings of commissioners; powers; salaries and expenses

14	(2)(a)  Members of the board of commissioners are authorized to receive
15 compensation not to exceed one hundred fifty dollars per day as may be determined
16 by the board of commissioners for every day a commission member is actually
17 employed in the services service of the district and may be reimbursed any expenses
18 incurred in performing the duties imposed upon him by virtue of his appointment.

Abstract: Increases the maximum compensation for members of the board of
commissioners in Calcasieu Parish.
Present law authorizes members of the board of commissioners in Calcasieu Parish to
receive compensation not to exceed $100 per day for every day a commission member is
actually employed in the service of the district.
Proposed law increases the maximum amount of compensation in present law from $100 per
day to $150 per day.
