RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 589 (HB 820) 2018 Regular Session Jackson Existing law defines the practice of chiropractic. Existing law provides that the practice includes the use of mechanical devices. New law specifies the use of mechanical traction and mechanical massage as mechanical devices. Existing law provides that whenever a policy or contract provides for payment or reimbursement for any service, and the service is performed by a licensed chiropractor in this state, the chiropractor is entitled to payment or reimbursement. New law retains existing law and adds that this provision shall not affect any provision of the policy or contract regarding payment for services provided by a non-contracted provider.
