HB 832 Engrossed 2018 Regular Session	Gisclair
Abstract: Clarifies that proof of commercial liability insurance and commercial motor
vehicle insurance is required for the registration of escort vehicles.
Present law requires each company that operates an escort service in this state and is
domiciled in this state register annually with the secretary.
Proposed law removes the specification of applicability to those escort companies domiciled
in La. and instead makes present law applicable to all escort services operating in La.
Present law requires that each application for registration of an escort vehicle be
accompanied by proof that each vehicle operated in this state by the applicant is insured in
the same amount as is required for escort companies which are domiciled in this state.
Proposed law removes present law and instead requires proof of commercial liability
insurance and commercial motor vehicle insurance, each providing for a minimum of
$500,000 in liability coverage.
