RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 289 (HB 832) 2018 Regular Session Gisclair Prior law required each company that operated an escort service in this state and was domiciled in this state register annually with the secretary. New law removes the specification of applicability to those escort companies domiciled in La. and instead requires all escort services operating in La. to register annually. Prior law required that each application for registration of an escort vehicle be accompanied by proof that each vehicle operated in this state by the applicant was insured in the same amount as was required for escort companies which were domiciled in this state. New law removes prior law and instead requires proof of general liability insurance, motor vehicle liability insurance, and workers compensation coverage, each providing for a minimum of $500,000 in liability coverage.
