HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 94
BY REPRESENTATIVES MACK, POPE, HODGES, AND SCHEXNAYDER AND
SENATOR ERDEY
COMMENDATIONS:  Commends the Holden High School girls' softball team on winning
the 2018 LHSAA Class B state championship
1	A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2To commend the Holden High School girls' softball team upon winning the 2018 Louisiana
3 High School Athletic Association Class B  state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Holden High School girls' softball team completed a sensational
52018 season, earning the title of Class B state champions; and
6 WHEREAS, Holden High School's victory over Forest at Frasch Park on Saturday,
7April 28, 2018, marked the Lady Rockets' second straight championship win; and
8 WHEREAS, the Lady Rockets completed their season with an impressive overall
9record of 32-3; and
10 WHEREAS, the top-seeded Lady Rockets started the championship game with
11Ashley Fogg ripping the first pitch in the bottom of the first inning for a solo home run to
12centerfield and went on to score every inning; from the circle, Olivia Lackie hurled a one-
13hitter with eleven strikeouts; and
14 WHEREAS, the distinguished performance of the entire Holden Rockets softball
15team throughout the regular season and the postseason has earned them the Class B title; and
16 WHEREAS, each of the following Lady Rockets performed at the highest level of
17excellence throughout the season and playoffs and deserves recognition for her vital
18contributions to the winning effort: Taylor Barfield, Olivia Barnes, Emmaleigh Bertrand, 
19Kacey Breithaupt, Gracie Duffy, Ashley Fogg, Aubrey Haltom, Hannah Harris, Emma

1Hutchinson, Kamrynn Ouber, Hanah Sance, and Emma Wilson as well as Olivia Lackie who
2was named the most valuable player in the title game for the second straight season; and
3 WHEREAS, the Lady Rockets' accomplishments during this unforgettable season
4would not have been possible without the guidance and skills of head coach Linzey Cifreo,
5assistant coach Craig Forbes, team managers Shelby Forbes and Madison McDonald, and
6all of the other individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's softball
7program; and
8 WHEREAS, the team's outstanding season upholds the glorious tradition of the Lady
9Rockets, and all Holden High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and
10distinguished honor that the team brings to its school and community.
11 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
12commend the Holden High School girls' softball team upon winning the 2018 Louisiana
13High School Athletic Association Class B state championship and does hereby extend best
14wishes to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine softball program as they
15celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.
16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
17to Coach Linzey Cifreo.
