HLS 18RS-4683 ORIGINAL 2018 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 242 BY REPRESENTATIVE JEFFERSON COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Reverend Titus Walker on his retirement after fifteen years at Northwest Louisiana Technical College and acknowledges his pastoral care at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Ruston 1 A RESOLUTION 2To commend the Reverend Titus Walker upon his retirement after fifteen years of 3 administrative service to Northwest Louisiana Technical College and to 4 acknowledge his pastoral care at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Ruston, Louisiana. 5 WHEREAS, for more than fifteen years, the Reverend Titus Walker has been a 6fixture in the administration of Northwest Louisiana Technical College, where he served 7under the titles of Student Service Personnel Administrative Coordination II and Testing 8Coordinator; and 9 WHEREAS, in addition to overseeing student entry and matriculation at Northwest 10Louisiana Technical College, the Reverend Titus Walker has faithfully performed pastoral 11duties at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Ruston, Louisiana; the Reverend Walker conducts 12Sunday Morning worship, teaches in Sunday School and at Bible study, and leads his 13congregation in prayer at weekly prayer meetings; and 14 WHEREAS, as 3rd vice president of the Liberty Hill Baptist Association, the 15Reverend Walker's sphere of spiritual influence reaches beyond the boundaries of the Solid 16Rock Baptist Church building and into the greater Christian community of north Louisiana; 17and 18 WHEREAS, the Reverend Walker also served as a council member in Gibsland, was 19a member of the board of the Pine Belt Multi-Purpose Agency, and was director of the 20Gibsland Summer Feeding Program; and Page 1 of 2 HLS 18RS-4683 ORIGINAL HR NO. 242 1 WHEREAS, as the Reverend Walker retires from his role of guiding students through 2Northwest Louisiana Technical College and continues his life journey, it is appropriate to 3acknowledge the sunset of his fifteen-year career, his pastoral care of the flock at Solid Rock 4Baptist Church, and his exemplary service to the Ruston community. 5 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 6Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express hearty congratulations to the Reverend Titus 7Walker upon his retirement from Northwest Louisiana Technical College after fifteen years 8of employment; does hereby record for posterity his service to the citizens of north 9Louisiana; and does hereby offer sincere prayers and hopes for happiness and fulfillment in 10his feature endeavors. 11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted 12to the Reverend Titus Walker.
