HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 242
BY REPRESENTATIVE JEFFERSON
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Reverend Titus Walker upon his retirement after fifteen years of
administrative service to Northwest Louisiana Technical College and to
acknowledge his pastoral care at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Ruston, Louisiana.
WHEREAS, for more than fifteen years, the Reverend Titus Walker has been a
fixture in the administration of Northwest Louisiana Technical College, where he served
under the titles of Student Service Personnel Administrative Coordination II and Testing
Coordinator; and
WHEREAS, in addition to overseeing student entry and matriculation at Northwest
Louisiana Technical College, the Reverend Titus Walker has faithfully performed pastoral
duties at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Ruston, Louisiana; the Reverend Walker conducts
Sunday Morning worship, teaches in Sunday School and at Bible study, and leads his
congregation in prayer at weekly prayer meetings; and
WHEREAS, as 3rd vice president of the Liberty Hill Baptist Association, the
Reverend Walker's sphere of spiritual influence reaches beyond the boundaries of the Solid
Rock Baptist Church building and into the greater Christian community of north Louisiana;
and
WHEREAS, the Reverend Walker also served as a council member in Gibsland, was
a member of the board of the Pine Belt Multi-Purpose Agency, and was director of the
Gibsland Summer Feeding Program; and
WHEREAS, as the Reverend Walker retires from his role of guiding students through
Northwest Louisiana Technical College and continues his life journey, it is appropriate to

acknowledge the sunset of his fifteen-year career, his pastoral care of the flock at Solid Rock
Baptist Church, and his exemplary service to the Ruston community.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express hearty congratulations to the Reverend Titus
Walker upon his retirement from Northwest Louisiana Technical College after fifteen years
of employment; does hereby record for posterity his service to the citizens of north
Louisiana; and does hereby offer sincere prayers and hopes for happiness and fulfillment in
his feature endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the Reverend Titus Walker.
