COMMENDATIONS: Commends Miss Louisiana 2017, Laryssa Bonacquisti
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Miss Laryssa Bonacquisti on her reign as Miss Louisiana 2017.
3 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to congratulate Laryssa Bonacquisti upon her
4outstanding accomplishments as Miss Louisiana 2017; and
5 WHEREAS, Miss Bonacquisti was crowned Miss Louisiana on Saturday, June 24,
62017, in Monroe, earning her the opportunity to represent the state with great pride and
7distinction in the Miss America pageant; and
8 WHEREAS, Miss Bonacquisti was previously crowned Miss Shreveport; and
9 WHEREAS, her platform is pancreatic cancer prevention, an issue that hits close to
10home for Laryssa since the death of her grandmother; and
11 WHEREAS, Miss Bonacquisti serves as the official hostess of the state of Louisiana
12and spokesperson for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, Vantage Health Plan, Propane
13Dealers of Louisiana, and the Louisiana Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports;
14and
15 WHEREAS, Laryssa is a senior studying mass communication, with a focus on
16broadcast journalism and minors in geography and political science, at Louisiana State
17University, where she serves as a news producer for Tiger TV, LSU's student media
18television program; and
19 WHEREAS, Laryssa has ambitions to attend law school; and
20 WHEREAS, Miss Bonacquisti merits a special measure of commendation for the
21tremendous pride and honor that she brings to her family, friends, community, Louisiana

1State University, and the state of Louisiana.
2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
3Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Laryssa Bonacquisti upon her outstanding
4accomplishments; does hereby recognize and record for posterity her singular contributions
5during her reign as Miss Louisiana 2017; and does hereby extend best wishes for continued
6success and happiness in all of her future endeavors.
7 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
8to Laryssa Bonacquisti, Miss Louisiana 2017.
