HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 35
BY REPRESENTATIVES HOFFMANN AND HUNTER
A RESOLUTION
To commend Miss Laryssa Bonacquisti on her reign as Miss Louisiana 2017.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to congratulate Laryssa Bonacquisti upon her
outstanding accomplishments as Miss Louisiana 2017; and
WHEREAS, Miss Bonacquisti was crowned Miss Louisiana on Saturday, June 24,
2017, in Monroe, earning her the opportunity to represent the state with great pride and
distinction in the Miss America pageant; and
WHEREAS, Miss Bonacquisti was previously crowned Miss Shreveport; and
WHEREAS, her platform is pancreatic cancer prevention, an issue that hits close to
home for Laryssa since the death of her grandmother; and
WHEREAS, Miss Bonacquisti serves as the official hostess of the state of Louisiana
and spokesperson for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, Vantage Health Plan, Propane
Dealers of Louisiana, and the Louisiana Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports;
and
WHEREAS, Laryssa is a senior studying mass communication, with a focus on
broadcast journalism and minors in geography and political science, at Louisiana State
University, where she serves as a news producer for Tiger TV, LSU's student media
television program; and
WHEREAS, Laryssa has ambitions to attend law school; and
WHEREAS, Miss Bonacquisti merits a special measure of commendation for the
tremendous pride and honor that she brings to her family, friends, community, Louisiana
State University, and the state of Louisiana.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Laryssa Bonacquisti upon her outstanding
accomplishments; does hereby recognize and record for posterity her singular contributions
during her reign as Miss Louisiana 2017; and does hereby extend best wishes for continued
success and happiness in all of her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Laryssa Bonacquisti, Miss Louisiana 2017.
