1	AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 40:1007(E)(8), relative to access to prescription monitoring information; to
3 provide for access by certain Louisiana Department of Health epidemiologists; and
4 to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 40:1007(E)(8) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 
7 ยง1007. Access to prescription monitoring information and audit trail information

11	(8) An epidemiologist with the Louisiana Department of Health for the
12 purpose of assisting the board in analyzing prescription monitoring information
13 in order to conduct public health evaluations to support public policy and
14 education pursuant to an agreement with the board.

Present law provides a list of individuals who may access the prescription monitoring
program. Proposed law adds an LDH epidemiologist to the list for the purpose of assisting
the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy with public health evaluations to support public policy and
education.
