[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] SB 119 Engrossed 2018 Regular Session Morrell Present law authorizes the secretary of the Department of Revenue to furnish taxpayer information to the Department of Health's tax filing unit for the purposes of complying with federal law. Proposed law authorizes the secretary of the Department of Revenue to also furnish taxpayer information to the Department of Health's Medicaid fraud unit as necessary for the purposes of verification of eligibility for Medicaid. Effective upon the signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
