DIGEST SB 144 Original 2018 Regular Session Mills Present law provides major teaching hospitals with an opportunity for Medicaid reimbursement based on a hospital prospective reimbursement methodology in which Medicaid payment is made based on a predetermined fixed amount if the hospital has an affiliation with a Louisiana medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and participates in at least four approved medical residency programs of which two are in medicine, surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, family practice, emergency medicine, or psychiatry, or maintains an intern and resident full-time equivalency of at least 20 filled positions.
