SENATE BILL NO. 157

1	AN ACT
2 To authorize and provide for the transfer of certain state property; to authorize the transfer
3 of certain state property in Ascension Parish; to provide for the property description;
4 to provide for reservation of mineral rights; to provide terms and conditions; to
5 provide an effective date; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  The commissioner of administration, notwithstanding any other
8 provision of law to the contrary, is hereby authorized and empowered to convey,
9 transfer, assign, lease, or deliver any interest, excluding mineral rights, the state may
10 have to all or any portion of the following described parcel of property to the board of
11 commissioners of the Pontchartrain Levee District:
12 The Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter (SW/4 of NW/4) Section 8,
13 Township 9 South, Range 4 East, Ascension Parish, LA. containing
14 approximately 40 acres, more or less.
15 Section 2.  The commissioner of administration is hereby authorized to enter
16 into such agreements, covenants, conditions, and stipulations and to execute such
17 documents as necessary to properly effectuate any conveyance, transfer, assignment,
18 lease, or delivery of title, excluding mineral rights, to the property described in
19 Section 1, and as more specifically described in any such agreements entered into and
20 documents executed by and between the commissioner of administration and the board
21 of commissioners of the Pontchartrain Levee District, in exchange of consideration
22 proportionate to at least the appraised value of the property.

1 Section 3.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
2 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
3 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
4 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
5 effective on the day following such approval.
