Present law requires that special prestige license plates issued in accordance with R.S. 47:463.6 et
seq. contain the uniform alpha-numeric series accompanied by a symbol or emblem representing the
organization requesting such plate.
Proposed law requires, on and after January 1, 2019, that any available special prestige license plate
may additionally bear the international symbol of accessibility, upon request and if the applicant is
eligible in accordance with the provisions of R.S. 47:463.4.
Effective January 1, 2019.
