SENATE BILL NO. 166

CRIMINAL PROCEDURE.  Requires the National Human Trafficking Resource Center
hotline information to be posted in additional locations. (gov sig)
1	AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 15:541.1(A)(6) and (7), relative to the posting of the National Human
3 Trafficking Resource Center hotline; to require airports and bus terminals and
4 stations to post information regarding the hotline; to provide for the location of the
5 posting; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  R.S. 15:541.1(A)(6) and (7) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 
8 ยง541.1. Posting of the National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline;
9	content; languages; notice; civil penalty
10	A. All of the following establishments shall be required to post information
11 regarding the National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline:

13	(6) Every airport as defined in R.S. 2:1(9) and by the Federal Aviation
14 Administration, including private-use airports. Each airport shall post the
15 information in the same location where other employee notices required by state
16 and federal law are posted.
17	(7) Every bus terminal or station, including terminals or stations that are

1 privately owned or owned by the state or a local governing authority. Each bus
2 station or terminal shall post the information in the same location where other
3 employee notices required by state and federal law are posted.

5 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
6 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
7 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
8 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
9 effective on the day following such approval.

Present law requires information regarding the National Human Trafficking Resource Center
Hotline to be posted in certain establishments.
Present law requires the notice to meet certain size, font, and language requirements set by
the ATC commissioner.
Proposed law retains present law and adds the requirement that airports and bus terminals
or stations post information regarding the hotline in the same location where other employee
notices required by law are posted.
Proposed law provides that the provisions of proposed law apply to public-use and
private-use airports.
Proposed law provides that the provisions of proposed law apply to privately owned stations
or terminals and those owned by the state or a local governing authority.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
