FISCAL CONTROLS. Provides relative to the Medicaid Subcommittee of the Health and

1 AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 39:21.3(E)(5)(e), relative to the Medicaid Subcommittee on the Health and
3 Social Services Estimating Conference; to require the Medicaid Subcommittee to
4 submit the Medicaid forecast to the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget for
5 its review; to provide for an effective date; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 39:21.3(E)(5)(e) is hereby enacted to read as follows:

14 (e) The subcommittee shall submit each adopted forecast to the Joint
15 Legislative Committee on the Budget for its review. The chairman of the Joint
16 Legislative Committee on the Budget shall place the presentation of the
17 Medicaid forecast on the agenda for discussion at the next month's meeting

1 following the submission by the subcommittee.

3 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
4 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
5 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
6 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
7 effective on the day following such approval.

Present law provides for the Medicaid Subcommittee on the Health and Social Services
Estimating Conference to develop forecasts of the Medicaid program and submit those
forecasts and reports on it actions to the conference.
Proposed law retains present law and further requires the subcommittee to submit the
adopted forecasts to the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget for review at the next
meeting of the committee following the submission of the forecast.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
