(8/1/18) 1 AN ACT 2 To enact R.S. 40:4.17, relative to retail food establishments; to provide for requirements of 3 retail food establishments; to provide for inspections of retail food establishments; 4 to provide relative to the Sanitary Code; to provide for terms and conditions; and to 5 provide for related matters. 6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 7 Section 1. R.S. 40:4.17 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 8 ยง4.17. Inspections of Retail Food Establishments 9 A. Retail food establishments shall maintain and promote community 10 hygiene as part of standardized business practices and shall be inspected no less 11 than four times during the calendar year by the Louisiana Department of 12 Health for such purposes. 13 B. The department shall exercise the enforcement powers authorized by 14 the state's sanitary code when performing such inspections. 15 C. The provisions of this Section may be cited as the "Good Corporate 16 Citizenship Law". Proposed law requires retail food establishments to maintain and promote community hygiene as part of standardized business practices. Proposed law provides that the Department of Health shall inspect retail food establishments no less than four times a year. The department shall exercise the enforcement powers authorized by the state's sanitary code when performing such inspections. Effective August 1, 2018.
