DIGEST SB 375 Engrossed 2018 Regular Session Barrow Present law provides for a state sanitary code. Proposed law requires retail food establishments that sell only prepackaged food items maintain and promote community hygiene as part of standardized business practices. Proposed law requires the owner of a retail food establishment that sells only prepackaged food items or his designee to obtain a food safety certificate. Proposed law provides that the Department of Health may approve training programs for retail food establishments that sell only prepackaged food items and shall instruct and educate the owner or his designee of the requirements and enforcement provisions of proposed law.
