[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] SB 422 Engrossed 2018 Regular Session White Present law provides that to defray the cost of issuing licenses, the State Licensing Board for Contractors will fix reasonable fees to be assessed, and reasonable penalties to be assessed for late applications for renewal of licenses and other administrative infractions. Further provides that the basic license fee will be the sum of not more than $100 and the fee for additional classifications will be a lesser amount as set by the board. Present law provides that one-half of the funds collected pursuant to present law will be distributed on a pro rata basis to each accredited public university or community college school of construction management or construction technology. Proposed law retains present law but adds that each accredited public university will receive twice as much funds as each community college. Effective August 1, 2018. (Amends R.S. 37:2156(C)(3)(d)(i)) Summary of Amendments Adopted by House The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Commerce to the engrossed bill: 1.
