(gov sig) 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact R.S. 13:1883(I), to increase the salary of the marshal of the City 3 Court of Natchitoches; and to provide for related matters. 4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 5 Section 1. R.S. 13:1883(I) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 6 ยง1883. Compensation of marshal 7 * * * 8 I. The marshal of the City Court of Natchitoches shall be paid fifty fifty-two 9 thousand dollars annually by the governing authority of the city of Natchitoches. The 10 governing authority of the parish of Natchitoches shall contribute one thousand two 11 hundred dollars annually towards the salary of the marshal and shall remit this 12 amount to the governing authority of the city of Natchitoches to be deposited into the 13 general fund of the city. 14 * * * 15 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not 16 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature 17 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. DIGEST SB 476 Engrossed 2018 Regular Session Long Present law provides an annual salary of $50,000 to the marshal of the City Court of Natchitoches paid by the municipal governing authority. Requires that the Natchitoches Parish governing authority contribute $1,200 annually towards the salary of the marshal. Proposed law increases the salary of the marshal to $52,000. Otherwise retains present law. Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
