1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 38:3097.4(D)(7) and to enact R.S. 38:2325(A)(16)(e) and
3 3097.4(D)(8), relative to the Sabine River Authority; to add certain requirements
4 prior to entering into any contracts to sell water; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. R.S. 38:3097.4(D)(7) is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S.
7 38:2325(A)(16)(e) and 3097.4(D)(8) are hereby enacted to read as follows:
8 §2325. Powers
9 A. Said authority shall have the power:

12 (e) The written concurrence of the Water Resources Commission shall
13 be required for any contracts and other agreements which provide for the sale,
14 utilization, distribution, or consumption, outside of the boundaries of the state
15 of Louisiana, of the waters over which the authority has jurisdiction or control.

17 §3097.4. Water Resources Commission; membership; powers and responsibilities

19 D. The commission shall have the authority to do the following:

21 (7) Provide written concurrence to the Sabine River Authority prior to
22 the authority's entering into any and all contracts and other agreements with
23 any person which provide for the sale, conservation, storage, utilization,
24 preservation, distribution, or consumption, outside of the boundaries of the
25 state of Louisiana, of the waters over which the authority has jurisdiction or
26 control.

1 (8) At their discretion, attend all public meetings called by the commissioner
2 pursuant to his power and duties in this Chapter.
