SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 110
BY SENATORS ERDEY, LAMBERT AND WHITE AND REPRESENTATIVES
HODGES, MACK, POPE AND SCHEXNAYDER 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends Holden High School Girls Softball Team on winning the
Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class B state championship.
1	A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To commend the Holden High School girls softball team upon winning the 2018 Louisiana
3 High School Athletic Association Class B state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Holden High School girls softball team completed a sensational
5 2018 season, earning the title of Class B state champions; and
6 WHEREAS, Holden High School's victory over Forest at Frasch Park on Saturday,
7 April 28, 2018, marked the Lady Rockets' second straight championship win; and
8 WHEREAS, the Lady Rockets completed their season with an impressive overall
9 record of 32-3; and
10 WHEREAS, the top-seeded Lady Rockets started the championship game with
11 Ashley Fogg ripping the first pitch in the bottom of the first inning for a solo home run to
12 centerfield and went on to score every inning; from the circle, Olivia Lackie hurled a
13 one-hitter with eleven strikeouts; and
14 WHEREAS, the distinguished performance of the entire Holden Rockets softball
15 team throughout the regular season and the postseason has earned them the Class B title; and
16 WHEREAS, each of the following Lady Rockets performed at the highest level of
17 excellence throughout the season and playoffs and deserves recognition for her vital
18 contributions to the winning effort: Taylor Barfield, Olivia Barnes, Emmaleigh Bertrand,

1 Kacey Breithaupt, Gracie Duffy, Ashley Fogg, Aubrey Haltom, Hannah Harris, Emma
2 Hutchinson, Kamrynn Ouber, Hanah Sance, and Emma Wilson as well as Olivia Lackie who
3 was named the most valuable player in the title game for the second straight season; and
4            WHEREAS, the Lady Rockets' accomplishments during this unforgettable season
5 would not have been possible without the guidance and skills of head coach Linzey Cifreo,
6 assistant coach Craig Forbes, team managers Shelby Forbes and Madison McDonald, and
7 all of the other individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's softball
8 program; and
9 WHEREAS, the team's outstanding season upholds the glorious tradition of the Lady
10 Rockets, and all Holden High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and
11 distinguished honor that the team brings to its school and community.
12 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
13 commend the Holden High School girls softball team upon winning the 2018 Louisiana High
14 School Athletic Association Class B state championship and does hereby extend best wishes
15 to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine softball program as they
16 celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.
17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
18 Coach Linzey Cifreo.
