INSURANCE:  Provides relative to the applications for licenses filed with the commissioner
of insurance
1	AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 22:12.1, relative to the maintenance of information in applications for licenses
3 filed with the commissioner of insurance; to require the applicant to notify the
4 commissioner of changes to the content of the application; to provide for an effective
5 date; and to provide for related matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 22:12.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 
8 ยง12.1. Maintenance of information in applications for licensure
9	All persons applying for any form of license or certificate of authority
10 pursuant to this Title shall notify the commissioner of changes to the content of the
11 application. 
12 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2019.

Abstract:  Requires that all persons who apply for any license or certificate of authority
notify the commissioner of insurance of any changes to the content of their
application. 
Present law requires, in order to transact a business of insurance in this state, a person to be
properly qualified as an insurer of a type permitted by law by applying for a license or
certificate of authority with the commissioner of insurance.
Proposed law extends present law to require that all persons applying for a license or
certificate of authority shall notify the commissioner of insurance of any changes to the
content of their application.
Effective July 1, 2019.

Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Insurance to the
original bill:
1. Make technical changes.
2. Change proposed law requiring the applicant to file supplemental information
during the pendency of the application to now require applicants to notify the
commissioner of insurance of any changes made to their application.
