Existing law authorizes municipal and parish planning commissions to adopt master plans
to provide for the physical development of their respective municipalities or parishes. 
Provides generally that commissions consist of not less than five nor more than nine
members.  Members of a parish planning commission are appointed by the police jury or
other parish governing authority.
Existing law requires a planning commission to hold at least one regular meeting each
month.
New law authorizes the Washington Parish planning commission to cancel a monthly
meeting if there are no agenda items for the meeting.  Requires the commission to provide
notice of a cancellation no less than five days prior to the scheduled meeting by placing a
notice in the official journal of the parish and by posting notice on the door of the building
in which the meeting was to be held and on the official website of the parish.
Effective August 1, 2019.
