Abstract: Provides relative to physical examinations required for membership in the Firefighters'
Retirement System (FRS).
Present law requires any person who becomes an employee of a fire department to become a member
of FRS as a condition of his employment. Present law further provides for exceptions to the
membership requirement. Proposed law retains present law.
Proposed law establishes the governing standard of physical evaluations required for membership
in the system and provides for employer certification of employee compliance with proposed law.
Authorizes the system's board of trustees to waive the requirements of proposed law.
