Abstract: Creates a "Combat Veteran" military honor license plate.
Proposed law creates the "Combat Veteran" license plate for persons that present certification from
the U.S. Dept. of Veteran Affairs or the La. Dept. of Veterans Affairs showing that the applicant is
a combat veteran.
Proposed law provides for the creation, qualification, issuance, design, fees, distribution, transfer,
and rule promulgation related to the military honor license plate.
Proposed law requires the secretary of the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to adopt rules
relative to the implementation of the military honor license plate including the transfer of the license
plate to the surviving spouse and the disposition of the military honor license plate.
Proposed law requires the office of motor vehicles to create the special prestige plate provided for
in proposed law when the applicable statutory provisions are met and their system is updated to
accommodate new plates.

1. Require the Dept. of Public Safety, office of motor vehicles, to create the special prestige
