Abstract:  Authorizes a parish governing authority in a parish with a population between 350,000
and 435,000 persons to name a sports complex in honor of a living person.
Present law provides that, except as otherwise provided by law, no public building owned by the
state or by any political subdivision of the state or by any institution receiving its support in whole
or in part from the state shall be named in honor of any living person.
Proposed law retains present law and authorizes the governing authority of a parish with a population
of not less than 350,000 persons and not more than 435,000 persons to name a sports complex in
honor of a living person.
