RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 356 (HB 236) 2019 Regular Session Billiot Existing law provides that, except as otherwise provided by law, no public building owned by the state, any political subdivision of the state, or any institution receiving its support in whole or in part from the state shall be named in honor of any living person. New law provides the following exceptions to existing law: (1)Authorizes a parish with a population of not less than 350,000 persons and not more than 435,000 persons to name a sports complex in honor of a living person. (2)Authorizes a parish with a population of not less than 340,000 and not more than 420,000 to name certain buildings, parks, and civic complexes in honor of a living person.
