RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 108 (HB 271) 2019 Regular Session Anders Prior law required a foreign or alien insurer that was the surviving insurer of a statutory merger to file with the commissioner of insurance two copies of the agreement and certificate of merger duly authenticated, one of which was required to be retained by the commissioner, and one of which was required to be filed with the secretary of state. New law requires a foreign or alien insurer to file with the commissioner of insurance one copy of the agreement and certificate of merger duly authenticated and requires that copy to be retained by the commissioner of insurance. Effective January 1, 2020. (Amends R.S. 22:340(A)(introductory paragraph) and (1))
